Social Marketing with Google+ and You
(Aff Link)
I have just finished reading Chris Brogan‘s Book “Google+ for Business.” If you are running a business, I highly recommend this book to understand how you can leverage Google+ to build lasting relationships with your customer base.
Chris makes a smart argument that social marketing is not business as usual. In his book he speaks about developing trust, relationships, and lasting communities between businesses and customers. He argues that marketing should revolve around the customer and not the product. He is especially passionate about debunking old marketing strategies.
Google+ for Business makes it clear that a marketing strategy built around the concepts of cheap, quick, and easy will yield limited results in a social marketing venue. Chris’ contrast between the virtues of social marketing and the tired, hackneyed, and transparent numbers game of conventional marketing resonate well with me.
What will this Book Do for You?
Google+ offers a unique, distinctly Google approach to social marketing. Chris brings it to life to better understand how you and your business can affect change in the social sphere, build communities, and market your product with a focus on your customer.
Chris gives you a review not so much focused on a 1-2-3 step approach but more of a holistic look at the impact Google+ can have on your business. He introduces you to methods that you can build upon to enrich your customers experience through Google+.
While you can’t describe Chris’s book as a manual, he does illuminate best practices, new ideas, how others are using Google+, and why it is potentially different from any other social marketing platform you may have yet encountered. Plus! Chris, much like his speaking style, just has an easy way about him and it makes the book a comfortable read
